CHS™ - Coated Ablation Catheter

CHS™ - Coated Ablation Catheter

To treat heart arrythmia, specifically atrial fibrillation, ablation therapy is extensivly used. Each year, more than 500 000 patients are treated with one of the different forms of ablation thepary. This involves introducing a catheter into the heart to electrophysically or with cryo balloons ablate tissue around the lung veines to restore normal electrical signal pattern that controls the heart beat.

A new treatment paradigm - Pulsed Field Ablation - is now being introduced and Corline's CHS™ is used to protect patients against blood clots emanating from the procedure itself. This can be devastating and in a worst case lead to neurovascular stroke. CHS™ is applied to the catheter surface and forms a very effective coating to attenuate thrombotic response during the procedure.
